These Terms of Service (‘Terms’) govern your access to and use of   www.adroitlife.ca Please therefore ensure you read these Terms carefully before using the site. In using the site and/or creating an account, you agree to accept and be bound by these Terms. How the website works
  • You must be registered in order to buy or sell through the site. A subscription fee is applicable for both freelancers and employers.
  • Individual services as offered are charged as agree'd upon by the employers, freelancers and help seekers.
  • Members outside of the Canada can pay for services in their local currency. All currency conversion rates are subject to the terms of the payment processor (e.g. PayPal/Stripe)
  • Employers and Help Seekers are granted all rights in the work delivered (e.g. copyright in designs), unless otherwise specified by the Freelancer within their service description or as agreed with the Employer.


  • Payment handling: No payment besides subscription fees will be handled by the site Employers and Freelancers will make arrangements for individual payment transactions. In order to protect your privacy, please do not request or provide email addresses, Skype/IM usernames or any other personal contact information.

    Handling orders
  • The Freelancer will be notified by email or phone when an Employer or Help Seeker orders a service.
  • The Freelancer must deliver their completed order within the timeframe specified in their service description. Failure to do so will permit the Employer or Help Seeker to cancel the order and may adversely affect the Freelancer's ratings.
  • The Freelancer’s ratings are calculated based on feedback received from Employers, the number of orders completed/cancelled and delivery timeframes met.
  • Both the Employer and the Freelancer have the option to cancel an order by mutual agreement. This will have no negative effect on either party. If the Freelancer alone decides to cancel an order, this will have an adverse effect on their rating. The Freelancer is not permitted to cancel an order without good cause.


  • Privacy and guidelines
  • Freelancer's and Employer's identities are kept anonymous.
  • Posting or sending illegal, potentially offensive, abusive, copyright protected, promotional, Pronographic, spam, violent or otherwise harmful material will result in your account being disabled.
  • We do not accept services that offer to post false reviews. Any listing found to be offering such services will be removed from the site without prior notice to the Freelancer.
  • Please check your local laws and regulations before purchasing any service. Our site is not responsible for the use or outcomes of any services hosted on the site, whether intended or otherwise.


  • Orders - Delivery & communications
  • All users are responsible for checking that all files they transfer are free of any viruses or malware. Our website will not be responsible for any damage incurred as a result of damaged content or files transferred.
  • The Freelancer must deliver completed files and/or proof of work completed using the 'Complete Gig ' tab (located on the Dashboard>Manage ads>My Active Gigs).
  • Once an order is delivered, the users has three days to respond to the Freelancer with any modifications (if these are offered) or to file a complaint. After that time, the order will be marked as completed.
  • If a dispute arises between the Employer and Freelancer, the parties are encouraged to try and resolve the matter themselves. If this is not possible then the Freelancer or Employer may refer the matter to Our Customer Support for arbitration.
  • Our decision is and will be final.


  • Employers
  • Services may be purchased using a valid debit card, credit card or via PayPal.
  • The Freelancer will be notified once the Employer has submitted any required information through the order page.
  • If the Employer has specific requirements, they can post a request on the site via the ‘Post a Job’ feature located in the Dashboard section of their account.
  • All complaints should be directed to our Customer Support team. Users are asked to avoid filing a complaint via PayPal or their own bank as this may result in their Our account being disabled
  • Where an order is eligible for cancellation (e.g. due to late delivery) it can only be cancelled by Customer Support within 10 days of being marked as completed. After this time, the order cannot be cancelled.


  • Shipping
    Where the Employer, Help-Seeker or Freelancer purchases a service that requires physical delivery, the user will be required to provide a shipping address. The Freelancer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements once the Employer supplies the shipping address. Our website does not handle or guarantee shipping, tracking, quality and condition of items or their delivery and shall not be responsible or liable for any damage or other problems caused, directly or indirectly, as a result of shipping.

    General terms
  • Any breach of our Terms of Service may result in the offender’s account being permanently disabled.
  • We reserve the right to put any account on hold or to permanently disable it due to account misuse. A user whose account is on hold will not be able to sell or buy on our site
  • From time to time, we may make changes to our Terms of Service. An updated copy of the Terms will be made available at   www.adroitlife.ca/terms_of_service
  • Our website is a Canadian based company and as such is subject to Canadian laws
  • Our site pays all required taxes and levies, including VAT on the commission based service it provides. Where applicable, all Employers, Freelancers and Help Seekers must ensure that they conform to their local rules and regulations and pay all required taxes associated with the purchase or sale of any service. We will not be held responsible for any liability incurred as a result of the sale or purchase of any services hosted on the site, other than our own legal commitments.


  • Disputes
  • We encourage our Employers, Help Seekers, Freelancers to try and settle disputes amongst themselves. If for any reason they are not able to do so, they can submit a customer support ticket at https://www.adroitlife.ca/contact/
  • We will not refund payments made for cancelled orders back to the original source of payment in the first instance.


  • Reviews
  • Feedback reviews provided by Employers, Help Seekers and Freelancers while completing an order are an essential part of the site’s rating system. Reviews demonstrate the Employer’s overall experience with the Freelancers and their service. Employers are encouraged to communicate to the Freelancer any concerns experienced during their active order in regards to the service provided by the Freelancer.
  • Leaving a Freelancer’s feedback is a basic prerogative of an Employer and Help Seeker. Feedback reviews will not be removed unless there are clear violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To prevent any misuse of our Feedback system, all feedback reviews must come from legitimate sales executed exclusively through the platform from users within our Community. Purchases arranged, determined to artificially enhance Freelancer ratings, or to abuse the platform with purchases from additional accounts, will result in a permanent suspension of all related accounts.
  • Feedback comments given by Employers are publicly displayed on a Freelancer’s Gig page.
  • Work Samples are the delivered images and videos sent to a Freelancer in a delivery message. Work Samples are added to a Freelancer's Live Portfolio on their Gig page if the Buyer chooses to publish the Work Sample while providing a public feedback review.
  • Withholding the delivery of services, files, or information required to complete the Gig’s service with the intent to gain favorable reviews or additional services is prohibited.
  • Responding and posting a review: Once work is delivered, the user has three days to respond. If no response is provided within the response period, the order will be considered completed.
  • Users are allowed to leave reviews on orders up to 10 days after an order is marked as complete. No new reviews may be added to an order after 10 days.
  • Freelancers may not solicit the removal of feedback reviews from their Employers and Help Seekers through mutual cancellations.


  • Account use
    It is the member's responsibility to use their account for its intended purpose and in line with the websiteTerms. Failure to do so may incur an official warning or account suspension (depending on the violation in question). The following actions may attract an official warning or account suspension:
  • Encouraging service Employers to pay for services outside of the website.
  • Sending unsolicited emails to other members about services or products.
  • Posting prohibited Content


  • Communications from Us We will occasionally send our members information on products, services, special deals and promotions, if you chose to Opt In. If you do not wish to receive these types of communications you can opt out of receiving them by following the instructions included in the newsletter or communication.
